My Birth

"Man cometh forth like a flower,
and is cut down:
he fleeth also as a shadow,
and continueth not."

It was amidst the blood and thunder of the Fall of Stormwind that I, Bartholomeo, was born of my mother, Maria Langston into the House of Burlguard by the seed of my father, Romeo Burlguard.

As the raging orcish armies were crushing the majestic City of Stormwind to dust and rubble, my father, forced to defend the City as a Stormwind City Guard, entrusted the safe exodus of my very pregnant mother to my maternal uncle (and godfather), Abele Langston who was a member of the Clerics of Northshire.

My uncle, being a master of monastic discipline was safely able to delude the invading orcs into ignoring our presence as we past through them unscathed. My mother, under the excruciating pains of anxiety, began her labour of bringing me to this world as soon as she was brought to the safety of the Abbey.

I was born on that very night, in the sacred safety of the Abbey's walls. Little did we know at that time however, the flight would continue as the orcs turned their eyes towards Northshire to save their half-orcish sisteren, Garona Halforcen.

As the orcish onslaught encroached towards the Abbey, my mother and uncle were forced to flee once more, where we traversed the montainous regions south of Northshire Valley nearby the then orc-occupied, Jasperlode Mines. However no obstacle was known to my uncle, as we once again eluded them.

Camped in the foothills north of Stone Cairn Lake with other refugees under the safeguard of a few Clerics of Northshire, my mother awaited two weeks until, to her great elation, my father returned to us, though lightly covered in sooth and dust, he was painted red with orcish blood.

After a year of hiding in the mountains with thousands of discreet refugees, the Alliance of Lordaeron finally arrived to drive away the orcish filth from our country and recapture the ruined Kingdom of Stormwind.

Returning to our once-glorious City, my parents gathered with their own kith and kin whom they had not seen for many months. It was eventually discovered that my paternal grand-father, Adamo Burlguard died honourably in defense of the City, ironically in front of where our home was later erected.

From the rubble and ruin, the courageous and persistent Human race, under the guidance of King Varian Wrynn's regent protector, Anduin Lothar - the Lion of Azeroth, began to rebuild.
